Job Title: Partnership Development Manager

Salary: £34,500.

Contract Type: Contract for 18 months; there is a strong possibility that currently anticipated growth in the team may see this role become permanent during the contract term. Full time (35 hours per week) although flexible hours may be considered; the role may require occasional evening and weekend work  

Working location: Home based. The post holder should expect to come into the office a minimum of two days per month, with the possibility of up to five days per month being routinely required.

BACKGROUND   

The latest research suggesting that the number of children and young people at risk of hunger has rocketed to three million means that one in five children don't have enough to eat.   

When a child is too hungry to learn, when they’re aching for something to eat, they can’t concentrate. They can’t absorb information. Big feelings and worries can be impossible to control. They fall behind in their studies.  

Magic Breakfast provide a nutritious and filling breakfast to over 200,000 children and young people every school day. We work with schools in areas of high disadvantage, helping staff target the children most in need without barrier or stigma.   

Magic Breakfast are ambitious to grow our impact in order to remove hunger as a barrier to learning for all children and young people in the UK. To do this, we need to continue to grow our fundraised income, of which new corporate income is a significant element.

JOB INFORMATION

We are seeking candidates who are after the next step in their fundraising journey. You will already have strong credentials and be ready to start your journey into Partnership Management which will include leading in delivering the new business plan and working closely with colleagues in the Partnership Development team and across the organisation to identify, create and secure new strategic, multi-year corporate partnerships 

You’ll be ambitious to take the next step and we are on hand to support and offer you training and a positive working environment to allow you to gain confidence and knowledge in the role at a steady pace.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

• Building a pipeline that reflects Magic Breakfast’s restricted and unrestricted funding needs, including Gift in Kind requirements, working with the Partnership Research Executive to research and identify prospects with potential.  
• Making use of multiple tactics to secure meetings with prospects including, for example, cold calling, emailing, running events, event networking and social selling on platforms like LinkedIn.
• Ensuring that risk-screening and due diligence processes have been completed in line with Magic Breakfast’s Ethical Fundraising and Due Diligence policies. 
• Understanding each prospect’s strategic interests through meetings, discussions and research and defining the mutual advantage in partnership. 
• Developing and delivering engaging, relevant and impactful pitches and written proposals to prospective partners.

The Meridian One Community Garden serves as a space where we focus on cultivating fruit, salad, and vegetable produce. We involve the local community by hosting weekly volunteer gardening sessions, welcoming school visits, and organising various community events.

TCV is seeking a Senior Project Officer with expertise in community engagement, event coordination, and managing community facilities. The garden, which was established one year ago, encompasses facilities such as an office, a community meeting/education room, toilets, and a spacious polytunnel.

The Senior Project Officer will oversee a range of tasks including planning and executing community events, maintaining site Health & Safety, leading volunteers in practical projects like building wooden planters, tending to garden plants, and ensuring timely completion of administrative duties such as procurement, risk assessments, social media updates, and task reporting. They will also lead activities for the under 5’s Nature Explorers group, school visits, themed evening events, and family weekends. Additionally, they'll organise corporate volunteering sessions and cover holiday shifts for the Green Gym gardening program. Previous events have included 'Pampering and Enrichment,' 'Repurpose, Recycle, Reinvent' workshops, and a Black Women in Conservation and Horticulture photo exhibition, as well as our weekend family events featuring free food, music, and arts and crafts activities.

This role involves being friendly and open to various people who visit, from the toddlers attending the Nature Explorers club, to our volunteer gardeners, to senior staff from the local authority. There are two other people working part-time at the garden, and TCV provides thorough training and support from a helpful local team.

Ideally, we’re looking for someone with experience of gardening and/or nature conservation. However, what’s equally important is that the Senior Project Officer has initiative, is welcoming, and comfortable working with a wide range people. We’d therefore welcome applications from candidates who can display those personable qualities, with perhaps experience of working in a community centre setting.

In Spring 2024, TCV will be taking on the management of an additional nearby meanwhile space. The new Senior Project Officer will join us at an exciting time when we begin to turn that space into a new community tree nursery. Working with local people to gather seeds from significant trees in the surrounding area, we aim to grow saplings which will go on to be distributed for planting around London.

Working hours are 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. Given the nature of the role the Senior Project Officer will need to work from the garden during these times. Occasionally, to avoid lone working in the absence of another colleague, there will be the opportunity to work from home. Weekend family events take place on Saturdays, four times a year and there are approximately six evening events which take place between April to September. This post holder would be expected to attend those evening and weekend events.

We are looking for two Development Managers to join our Development team focusing on Individual Giving and Trust and Foundation Fundraising.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee the delivery of our Regular Giving programmes and will also manage relationships with high-level donors to identify and securing major gifts.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive acquisition, retention and growth of Individual Giving at all levels with a particular view to growing unrestricted income from this stream.
• Develop and deliver inspiring Regular Giving appeals, understanding the key motivations of our supporters and in line with the strategic objectives of the organisation.
• Lead on the delivery of all aspects of the Patron programme, in particular stewardship of Patrons and supporting the Head of Development in a strategic review of the programme.
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to grow visitor giving, taking a multi-channel and innovative approach.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of prospects and donors to secure mid- and major-level gifts from Individuals, ensuring that tailored moves management strategies are employed to meaningfully move relationships towards solicitation.

The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

Applicants must be able to demonstrate the following essential requirements:

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
• Proactively manage a personal portfolio of Trusts and Foundations, regularly meeting and engaging with prospective funders to pitch proposals and check-in around expectations. 
• Liaise with key internal stakeholders to develop accurate, compelling funding applications in line with deadlines set by funders. 
• Build lasting relationships with funders in order to establish opportunities for multi-year income generation.
• Drive the Trusts and Foundations prospecting process and increase the range of prospects approached for support, utilising prospect research tools and securing introductions from our network.

Key Responsibilities:

· Identify and maximise opportunities to raise funds from companies, trusts, foundations, and other funding bodies.

Epic is seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Development Officer to grow our fundraising and development efforts. A fundraiser at heart who loves to convince and win people over. 

The Development Officer will be responsible for all aspects of daily fundraising activities for Epic’s key segments of donors (high net worth individuals (HNWI) and intermediaries, entrepreneurs, corporations), including building and managing a database of new leads, outreaching and nurturing. 

This position is based at Epic’s office in central London (St James SW1). 

Key Responsibilities:

Under the supervision of the Development Director, the missions of the Development Officer are as follows:

1. Contribution to Epic’s Fundraising Strategy in the UK

• Collaborative work with the UK Development Director to shape and execute the fundraising strategy, bringing forth new ideas, networks and results to ensure Epic meets its income targets

• Lead outreach efforts to expand Epic’s potential donor database in the UK : monitor the fundraising ecosystem and engage in proactive cold outreach through Growth campaigns, LinkedIn, emailing, as well as in-person and digital networking activities, including attending at least one event per week which may extend into late afternoon/evening

• Conduct desktop research on individuals, sectors, and event-specific topics as required

• Provide support to other development initiatives and projects as needed.

2. Lead Conversion

• Set conversion objectives and support conversion from leads to donations

• Identify lead opportunities within networks and events, setting priorities accordingly

• Pitch Epic and its various Giving Solutions to potential donors, and build tailored-made proposals when needed

• Maintain high discipline and consistency in follow-up with leads and donors : use Epic’s CRM to build a consistent pipeline of prospects and handle the management of the database with accurate opportunities and donor and gift records 

• Evaluate and monitor the return on investment (ROI) of events and fundraising campaigns 

• Prepare compelling fundraising communications, materials and presentations for donor meetings and events 

3. Nurturing & engaging the UK Community

• Contribute to Epic’s engagement strategy for current donors to ensure an 80% renewal rate

• Maintain regular touchpoints with a subgroup of donors through activities such as sharing monitoring reports, organising field visits in the UK, and scheduling regular calls and face to face meetings. Act as the main point of contact for donors and answer to their enquiries in a timely manner

• Manage community-related administrative tasks to streamline donation processes and act as the main point of contact for donors to answer to their enquiries in a timely manner

• Craft engagement opportunities such as UK events and webinars, including drinks, talks, breakfast events, and annual gala nights. Support will be provided by our in-house dedicated Events team.

Position Requirements : 

• Candidate must have the right to work in the United Kingdom

• Excellent level of English (both spoken and written), basic level of French (written and spoken) required

• A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a sales, fundraising or business development role, preferably in the non-profit sector

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Comfortable networking in very different communities and strategic desk research and analysis

• Strong self-discipline and project management skills

• Strong interest in data analysis 

• Ease with database management and knowledge of CRM systems (preferably Salesforce) 

• Excellent organisational skills and an eye for detail

We are looking for an ambitious Corporate Partnerships Officer that wants to maximise fundraising opportunities with existing partners through excellent account management and also enjoys new business and converting leads to new partnerships. This role will be split with 60% of your time allocated to Account Management and 40% to New Business.  

To be successful in this role, you will have knowledge and experience of managing and growing fundraising partnerships, as well as experience of working with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders. You will be self-motivated with strong organisational skills and an ability to set priorities, contribute to a prospect pipeline and meet deadlines.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Account Management

• Manage a diverse portfolio of corporate partnerships including strategic partnerships, commercial partnerships, charity of the year and corporate donations, and support Corporate Partnership Managers with responsibilities relating to larger partnerships.
• Deliver excellent partnership management including developing a partnership plan, meeting with stakeholders, delivery of partner benefits and account stewardship.
• Develop and deliver timely, relevant and engaging impact reporting.
• Develop new and grow existing corporate partnerships, drafting and negotiating partnership agreements, for the best outcomes across FareShare’s work and maximising the income potential.
• Maintain robust account growth plans, update pipelines and stakeholder mapping for your partners.
• Produce high quality communications, reports, propositions and pitches for partnerships - delivering excellent account management through the highest levels of supporter centred stewardship.
• Ensure we maximise the skills and experience of corporate partners through pro-bono, value-in-kind and volunteering support.

New Business

• Proactively approaching corporate opportunities following our new business strategy, writing funding proposals and approaching community groups for new partnerships
• Responding to volunteer enquiries from companies who want to work with FareShare and converting enquiries to new business leads when viable
• Contribute to the fundraising team new business pipeline
• Maintaining accurate cultivation plans and reporting for new business approaches
• Working with the FareShare food, volunteering and marketing teams to identify new fundraising opportunities 

Communication and Administration

• Develop PR and communication plans for corporate partners, working in collaboration with the Marketing & Communications team.
• Manage the general administration and accurate data management for your partners.
• Support annual budgeting and planning in line with the fundraising team’s strategic objectives. Report on any variances of income against budget and undertake contingency planning to minimise risk.
• Where necessary, work with the wider teams at FareShare and with our regional centre partners to deliver greater partner impact.
• Contribute to the wider success of the fundraising team through supporting colleagues, celebrating successes and sharing learnings.
• Efficient and effective management of income ensuring compliance with GDPR, charity regulation and FareShare’s own Ethical Gift Policy
• With support from colleagues manage all legal and financial aspects of partnership agreements

Our new Development Officer will play a key role in implementing a new 3 year Trusts and Foundations and Philanthropy strategy, aiming to raise £400,000 per annum towards our total fundraising target.

The Senior Grants Officer (Business Development) will join ClientEarth’s thriving and growing Business Development team. A key role for securing new grant income, the postholder will play a crucial part in the research and cultivation of potential new funder relationships, and will develop and submit winning funding proposals to trusts, foundations and institutional donors. 

They will manage their own portfolio of prospective funders, and undertake detailed prospect research into the foundation donor market whilst liaising with ClientEarth’s global teams across different programme areas and geographies. Working closely with the Business Development Manager, they will identify potential alignment with ClientEarth’s strategic priorities and inform decision-making in relation to funding opportunities. 

Meet your Manager

In this role, you will be managed by Alex Wright. A fundraiser for over 12 years, Alex previously worked for a range of national music charities and is a trustee of two arts education charities. As part of the Business Development Team at ClientEarth, he manages the cultivation of new relationships with trusts and foundations in the US and securing new grant income. Alex joined ClientEarth in 2024 and is based in our London office.

Main Duties

• Prospect research and pipeline development - Proactively undertake research to identify, qualify and prioritise new funding prospects/ opportunities to support the build of a pipeline of high quality leads to guide future fundraising efforts; 
• Business Development and Income generation  - Draft clear and compelling written fundraising materials including cases for support, funding proposals, and concept notes;
• Systems and processes - Provide timely and accurate information to the Business Development Manager on funding opportunities in their portfolio and progress with workplan, as requested, to enable accurate monitoring and reporting to the Head of Business Development;
• Understanding of ClientEarth’s programmes and funding needs 

Role requirements

• Fluent (CEFR level C2) in English 
• Experience of working in a fundraising or business development role for a charity, NGO, private or public entity; 
• Experience of drafting compelling and successful proposals for trusts, foundations and statutory institutions and securing multi-year grants, ideally at the six-figure level and above; 
• Experience of supporting the relationship development process with a new donor, from prospect research through to ask.
• Strong project management skills to lead the proposal development process to meet funder deadlines, including stakeholder management;

Key Tasks

• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all high value fundraising activity, including proposals, applications, and donor interactions, and be able to regularly report this activity back to the Head of Philanthropy.

• Manage a portfolio of low-mid level prospects and existing donors, developing clear strategies to cultivate relationships and secure continued philanthropic support of £1,000 to £10,000. • Ensure the upkeep of a database and filing system for all existing and prospective donors within High Value Giving liaising with the Finance and Administrative team to ensure reconciliation with financial record.

• Work closely with the Philanthropy team and other colleagues to maximise all opportunities and support a dynamic, successful, and professional team

• Ensure that data security is maintained and that legal and regulatory requirements are fully complied with.

Centre 33 is an ambitious and growing charity based across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough and is looking to recruit an Development & Partnerships Officer, who is an ambitious fundraiser, with experience planning across Trusts/Foundations, Corporate or major donor prospects to join the Fundraising team.

In your role, you will regularly undertake prospect research using a variety of methods to identify and prioritise potentials funding opportunities to help create and maintain the funding pipeline.

You will have a strong abilities in interacting with technology with good attention to detail to understand complex information and issues from different perspectives, articulating these to the team.
